First Aid is the provision of initial care for an illness or injury, usually performed by a non-expert to a sick or injured person until definitive medical treatment can be accessed from a professional if required. This course on first aid should provide you with the basic knowledge to help someone in a physical activity and sport setting.

Course Contents

This course is designed to prepare youth mentors, coaches, sports for development administrators and sports programme facilitators with a basic knowledge in First Aid. It focuses on possible physical activity injuries and gives tips on both injury prevention and treatment.

The course has been prepared by experienced physical activity First Aiders and draws on expertise from many different sources including St. John’s Ambulance, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and FIFA’s First Aid Manual among others.
