COURSE OUTLINE
As part of SSF’s mission we believe that providing the safest space possible space for our participants to play is essential.
That’s why we undertake such a comprehensive programme of child safeguarding and associated training. We believe this helps to create a safer, more fun and friendly environment in our programmes.
That’s also why we encourage all of our youth mentors, coaches, parents, volunteers, staff and associated facilitators and administrators to get involved in SafeCert.
An important new part of that is the introduction of our comprehensive SafeCert Registry.
We are actively asking all our peeps to join this new SSF database of Caribbean youth mentors, coaches, facilitators and administrators.
We believe getting registered on the SafeCert Registry will help to:
Promote awareness among youth mentors, coaches, teachers, administrators, parents and volunteers about child safeguarding in sport.
Facilitate the development of safeguarding policies and guidelines for organizations involved in sport, physical education/activity and recreation for children.
Maintain a registry of individuals that meet international standards for working with children in sport.
We also think it will help promote credibility, confidence and quality in our programmes.
Credibility through understanding that those on the Registry meet accepted international standards.
Confidence in the knowledge that individuals are working hard to improve and sustain their own standards.
Quality by promoting strong values and appropriate activities in all we do.
In order to register you must:

SEND AND RETURN A PDF or JPEG OF CERTIFICATE OF SKILLS (Sports or Teaching specific)
SEND AND RETURN A PDF or JPEG OF POLICE CERTIFICATE OF CHARACTER(L2)
